USF St. Petersburg Florida Studies student Michelle Hoffman says a paper she wrote for a graduate seminar, War and Society, blossomed into her new book.

St. Petersburg’s Maritime Service Training Station was published this spring by Arcadia Publishing. The book tells the story of St. Petersburg’s history as a training site for the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II.
